These dishes were passed on to us by my mother-in - law. She worked for two years at a friends restaurant when she was young, in order to buy them. They are fine china, too delicate for me to use very often, used with doilies and candle sticks I made for this week's Metamorphis Monday.
I love the long white dish, a garage sale find a couple years ago.
These were at Target on clearance, $4 for both. A miniature trifle dish and a couple doilies give it a new "lift".
Some lemon bars on a favorite square serving plate.
And a little Dove dark chocolate.

Your china is just beautiful! How special that it is a family heirloom! I really like the candlesticks, too.
What a wonderful MIL to let you be the new caretaker of her beautiful china.

I bet Bill from Affordable Accoutrements could tell you a great deal about the history of your MIL's beautiful china. It looks soooo delicate! Very pretty!
Thanks for the lemon bar recipe, too. :D
Your vintage china is pretty and extra-special because of the story behind it. I know you had fun setting such a lovely table!
Beautiful china! I REALLY want to get some nice dishes for myself. My mother in law bought me a setting about 5 years ago and I HATE them. Uggh... I still drag them out whenever she comes over but, I really wish she had asked me what I liked and not just picked something SHE liked instead.
I think I will pack them up and perhaps one of my kids will want them someday.
At least your MIL passed along some nice china. :)
Listen to me complain! Not very "Belle" of me, is it?
