Oatmeal Cookies

1 1/4 c softened butter

3/4 c brown sugar

1/2 c sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 c four

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

3 c rolled oats

Optional 

2 Tbs. flax seed

3/4 c dried cranberries

1/2 c chopped walnuts

Cream butter and sugars, add egg and vanilla. In another bowl combine flour, soda and spices, add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and any or all of the optional ingredients. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10 min or until golden brown.

This is my all time favorite oatmeal cookie recipe, they have even won a blue ribbon at the local fair.
